*******ASBO TRAINING UPDATE******ASBO TRAINING UPDATE*******

Reports from the field (well Delamere Forest anyway) suggest that Kevin is well ahead of schedule in his training regime, which as you will know involves 6am gym sessions and 30km bike rides as he prepares for a 5 day marathon around Jordan, covering 375km in just 5 days.

ASBO has recently turned to local Cagefighter Danny Withington for help on conditioning and general dietary requirements.

We'll be getting regualr updates from Danny as the training camp develops.

Meantime, if you havent already (or even if you have) the donations page for Kevin's charity ride is here:-

Any donation, no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated. As of today the total raised is £1755.00

Kev hopes to get to his minimum target total of £3000.00 as quickly as possible, as he intends on smashing this target and reaching an even bigger target in honour of his mum.

What can be acheived? £3000? £5000? £10000? get on board now!

Now this is dedication

Kevin rang me the other day to talk about his training regime and how he was preparing for the Jordan Bike Ride.

I was expecting "I'm doing a bit of running" "I'm going to get out on my bike" "I'm cutting down on the ale" etc etc

But i was wrong. Instead i got the run down on the sacrifices Kev is making to ensure that he doesn't just turn up in Jordan and struggle along over the 5 day ride.

6.30am Gym sessions every morning before a full days work, cycling around Delamere Forest ALL DAY on Sunday, 10 laps of Sefton Park yesterday, approximately 25 miles......this lad is dedicated to his cause.

He is not going to Jordan to wing it and hope for the best, he's going to honour the memory of his mum with an outstanding preparation and performance and that's why he deserves the support of everyone in his fundraising campaign.

I know that he is already shocked at how much has been donated already, but i'm certain that the target that he has been set of £2750 can bemet, but maybe exceeded.

So if you havent donated already, or even if you have and are able to give a bit more, here is the link to his fundraising page.http://original.justgiving.com/kevinmorland

Also, please forward this onto any of your friends on Facebook and ask them to donate or even to subscribe to this blog or the Facebook group that has been set up  http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=112416788799978

Thanks to everyone who has supported Kev so far

I am trying to raise a minimum of £2750 to support Marie Curie Cancer Care.

In January 2007 my mum was told she had terminal cancer and only had a few months to live,   I  never once thought this would happen to our family it tore us to pieces. Over the next few months my mum battled away and stayed as strong as she could for us.    By the middle of May it was obvious she was quickly losing her battle.  This was the first time she stayed in the Marie Curie hospice and the first time any of us had been there.

Straight away I was bowled over at how good the place was,   my mum was so comfortable and happy in there it made life a lot easier for everyone.  Everything about the place was amazing, every member of staff couldnt do enough to help us, and the private comfortable hotel like rooms were superb.

Sadly on June 5 2007 my Mum passed away in the Marie Curie Centre, she was so well looked after and peaceful in her final hours all thanks to Marie Curie care.   It was then I started realising that without volunteers and fundraising the Marie Curie hospices would not exist.    I then became determined to do my bit to support this amazing place and help families like ours who will need the help and expert support Marie Curie provides.   From October 30  - November 6 2010 I will be participating in a 250mile bike ride through Jordan, through sponsorship I would like to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie Care and do my bit to allow this amazing place to be around for as long as possible for others and their families.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
